Iris (noun): A flower. The color part of the eye. A Rainbow. A Goddess. All of these can be use to describe Iris Gorman perfectly.
She has been doing stand-up in Portland for over three years, and just graduated from college at Portland State University in Theater Arts. So now she is trying to prove to her family that her degree is useful! So far it hasn’t worked out, but her rise in stranger’s friend requesting her on Facebook has risen 93% since last year, due to the fact that people saw her on stage and wanted to see more of her.
A loud audience member once said “Ohhh She’s weird” during her set. Other fans have described her as “witty” and “A tiny bundle of joy” and of course “easy on the eyes” (She may or may not have made that last one up.) She can make disgusting things relatable and charming.
Her likability on stage has lead to be a regular host at Harvey’s Comedy Club. She has been seen hosting over at the Brody Theater, and other random shady bars around the Portland area. Iris was a part of the Pacific NW Women Comedy Festival in 2012. Iris was a part of Gorilla Underground a award winning local sketch group that runs on cable access. She co-hosts/co-produces a successful monthly stand-up comedy showcase with her hilarious friend Christen Manville called Funnier on the Inside (http://www.facebook.com/FunnierOnTheInside) at The Tardis room (the only Dr. Who bar in Portland).
You can catch Iris every morning in her living room having meaningful discussions with her cat.
She loves you.
